After canceling two fishing trips due to freezing temperatures and high winds, it looks like the first opportunity for me to get on the water will arrive this weekend. Can’t come soon enough as I have a terminal case of cabin fever aka shack nasties.
Will be heading to Lake Billy Chinook to fish for the big bull trout using monster streamers. I am not sure whether catching a big one would be blissful ignorance, karma or pure dumb luck. But it certainly would be cool. Water has been cold til now, with few good fishing reports, but I’d rather be a little early than a little late.
The long, cold winter has provided the time to tie more flies than ever, so will have a bucketload primed for the season, and new Frankenfly experiments to test.
The Fly Foundry site is gaining fans beyond reason, and visitation will set another life-of-site monthly record in March! Thank you all. As will be explained later, the site will have an explosion in articles around Thanksgiving, just in time for next fly tying season and Holiday entertainment.
And once cabin fever subsides, I will be more energetic about finishing articles-in-progress for the coming weeks.
Update March 30: The Fly Foundry site officially tallied its best visitation month ever, with over 19,000 pages viewed, easily breaking the last record set in December 2012. An interesting note: this is becoming one of the most popular blog posts on the site: Bedspring Bug.
